Stara Zagora Municipality started its participation in the project "TEXAD - Improvement of circular solutions for textile waste for European municipalities", financed by the Interreg Europe program.
The project aims to improve the policy instruments of European municipalities, by strengthening the management of textile waste and bringing it into line with the requirements set by the new EU regulations. Specifically, this means preventing waste generation through separate collection, logistics, sorting and smart waste technologies. The total budget of the project is 1,430,000 euros.
The partnership brings together 6 municipalities (BG, ES, IT, NL, PT, SE) with strong textile training and best practices to share and one Regional Development Agency (PL). A fashion cluster plays the role of an advisory partner connecting the project with key stakeholders (private sector, technology providers, etc.).
