The Municipality of Stara Zagora is offering a volunteering opportunity through the Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) initiative within the European TEXAD project—“Advanced Circular Textile Waste Solutions for European Municipalities”, funded by the Interreg Europe programme.
TEXAD aims to support municipalities in adopting a more sustainable and circular approach to textile waste management, including waste prevention, proper sorting, collection, reuse and recovery.
The volunteer will support the project’s pilot action in Stara Zagora, including activities related to textile repair, reuse and creative upcycling. Main tasks will also include assisting with the preparation and testing of the equipped container, supporting workshops and demonstrations for residents, gathering good practices and ideas for creative textile reuse, and participating in the project’s communication and information activities.
The volunteer will also have the opportunity to help organise meetings, events and visits to exchange good practices, assist in preparing information and promotional materials, and support the day-to-day implementation and coordination of project activities.
Key information:
Location: Stara Zagora, Bulgaria;
Duration: Six months, starting in April;
Financial support provided through an allowance;
Basic skills in using a sewing machine, pattern cutting and textile cutting tools would be an advantage.
