Deputy Mayor Radostin Tanev: "Our priority is to develop entrepreneurial thinking from childhood"

The "Healthcare and Medicine" sector has been identified as having the potential to attract both Bulgarian and foreign companies to Stara Zagora according to the strategy prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers on behalf of the Municipality of Stara Zagora and jointly with the European Commission. This is the reason why we invite you to this meeting with a request for active dialogue and the opportunity to be mutually beneficial, emphasized last night the Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Stara Zagora Radostin Tanev. He participated in another sector meeting that the Municipality of Stara Zagora, represented by Invest Stara Zagora, is holding this year.

The conversation in the hall of the Regional Historical Museum was with representatives of the waste management, human health and social work sectors. It was also attended by the Head of the "Investment, Energy Efficiency and Green Transition" department Rositsa Raykova and the junior expert Kristin Kostadinova.

In order to develop the business environment, this strategy recommends that we actively encourage entrepreneurship, and not only to stimulate youth entrepreneurship among people over 18 years old, but to start working much earlier - even with children in schools, so that they develop this type of thinking early on, the deputy mayor of Stara Zagora pointed out to the audience. Our idea is to create a community of young, awake people who want to develop business in Stara Zagora, and the local government to create conditions for this to happen, supported by Rositsa Raykova. "Through this strategy, we are laying the foundation for an even more mature entrepreneurial movement in Stara Zagora and to keep as many young people as possible within the borders of their hometown," she developed her thought. We will enter among the sixth grade children, introduce them to different professions and together with their parents we can take them to the enterprises to see what it is like now, nowadays - this came up as an idea at one of the already held sector meetings, informed Deputy Mayor Radostin Tanev. Representatives of the pharmaceutical and dental business agreed that the priority is to work with the children, to gain self-confidence, to know how to present themselves at future job interviews, what they can expect and not to take into account the skepticism of adults that they can only have career development in Sofia or abroad.

Representatives of the "Investment, Energy Efficiency and Green Transition" department presented the upcoming for the third consecutive year career exhibition WorkIn Stara Zagora 2025 - on April 11 and 12, aimed at both business and citizens, as it provides an opportunity for direct contact with employers. There are no more free stands for exhibitors, but come as visitors, there will also be a lecture program, Kristin Kostadinova invited. The attendees were also introduced to the online platform VibeJobs - a startup in collaboration with Viber, free of charge for small and medium-sized enterprises in the municipality of Stara Zagora, which also provides an opportunity for an easier employer-specialist connection.

Radka Tileva, manager of the Regional Information Center (OIC) - Stara Zagora, presented the opportunities for applying for projects funded by the EU for small and medium-sized enterprises, with an emphasis on training and employment opportunities. The next sectoral meetings that are coming up will be on March 13 with representatives of trade and on March 19 with representatives of production, light and heavy industry. These meetings will help us a lot in our work with investors, emphasized Rositsa Raykova. Foreign companies that come here come with part of their team and need information on how to organize their lives while staying in Stara Zagora for a period of years: from food to treatment and entertainment, she gave a specific example. With all the information we collect from meetings with you, we can be of help to both them and you, so we need to be well acquainted with what the local business offers, the head of the investment department emphasized in conclusion.
