Stara Zagora is the first Bulgarian city to join the European Initiative for Digital Transformation of Cities and Communities "LIVING - IN.EU". The campaign aims to support the efforts of cities and communities in the fight against climate change and environmental protection, including the active participation of business and civil society. Settlements are increasingly in need of appropriate digital solutions and applications to address the growing number of interconnected challenges of our modern lives. These solutions are diverse and can be related to: "smart" urban mobility; energy efficiency; sustainable "smart" housing, digital public services, etc. The initiative is supported by EUROCITIES - the network of major European cities, the European Commission, the European Committee of the Regions.
Stara Zagora is the only city in Bulgaria that is already part of this community - currently numbering 110 representatives of public administration at local and regional level, and thus will have access to information about funding opportunities for projects from European funds in this direction, as well as valuable recommendations and guidelines for building a well-functioning digital environment.
