Stara Zagora is open to investors from Romania, assured Deputy Mayor Radostin Tanev at a meeting with the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce

Joint activities for the development of business between Bulgaria and Romania and for attracting investors in Stara Zagora and our region in transition were discussed today by the Deputy Mayor of Stara Zagora Municipality Radostin Tanev and part of the management of the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce. BRTC was represented by Executive Director Iliyana Ilieva and by the member of the Management Board Eleonora Ivanova. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Investment, Energy Efficiency and Green Transition Department Rositsa Raykova.

Radostin Tanev briefly described the business analyses that recommend how to develop the business environment in our region. One of the markets with which we can work is Romania, points out one of the analyses prepared jointly with the European Commission. "The companies we would like to attract are those that bring added value both with the type of work and the size of the salaries. To create a wide range of opportunities for young people to stay in their native Stara Zagora. In the Municipality of Stara Zagora, we provide a fast track for new investors," the Deputy Mayor with the portfolio "Transport, Ecology, Investments and Green Transition" emphasized to the guests.

This, compared to what has been done in other administrations, is irreplaceable, is the opinion of the representatives of the BRTK.

"We are ready to organize a forum to which we would invite a business delegation from Romania to our city, to present Stara Zagora at an event in Romania, as well as to directly talk with their companies, ready to relocate or reinvest. We offer a good tax policy and a well-developed railway network," Radostin Tanev also defined.

He presented the way in which the Municipality of Stara Zagora attracts investors. "We have two industrial zones - "Zagore", in which there is one vacant property of 40 decares left and "Elenino", in which there are 170 decares vacant. In "Zagore" there is everything from packaging production, to food and beverage industry and to innovative production of supplements. The largest "Heart and Brain" hospital in Bulgaria with laboratories attached to it will be located there," Radostin Tanev described. The deputy mayor also announced that the "Elenino" industrial park, which is located only 4-5 km from our city, is being shaped as a green energy hub. An 80-megawatt substation will be built there specifically for the zone, and the water supply and sanitation project should be completed in June 2026. "The third stage is the area of the former Stara Zagora airport - within 3 years and we will be able to accept investors there," Radostin Tanev further informed.

He also spoke about the largest career fair in Southern Bulgaria, organized by a municipality - WorkIn Srara Zagora, which is coming up for the third consecutive year on April 11 and 12. "In this edition, accomplished specialists will tell what they went through to achieve their success. We have planned a lecture on the labor market, trends and innovations, how everyone can prepare their application for a job," revealed Rositsa Raykova in advance. She predicts that the number of attendees at the event will double compared to 2024.

The meeting with the Bulgarian-Romanian Chamber of Commerce also described the innovative job search and staffing platform VibeJobs - a joint venture with Rakuten Viber, which has been a fact since the fall of 2024.
