On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria, the "Investment, Energy Efficiency and Green Transition" department visited the exhibition of Chinese goods and services in the National Palace of Culture.
A special guest at the exhibition was the President of the Republic of Bulgaria - Rumen Radev, who opened and welcomed the business forum and Dai Qinli - Ambassador of the People's Republic of China.
Bulgaria provides China with very good opportunities for the development of cooperation in various fields. We hope and promise that China will continue to strive for the development of cooperation. This was stated by Dai Qinli, Ambassador of China to Bulgaria, during his welcoming speech at the opening of the "Exhibition of Leading Chinese Products and Services and Bulgarian-Chinese Business Meetings" at the National Palace of Culture.
"We will not forget that Bulgaria is the second country to establish diplomatic relations with the new China. In the past 75 years, the two countries have always treated each other with mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit. The traditional friendship becomes permanent," said Ambassador Dai Qinli.
The ambassador recalled some important dates for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries over the last decade, such as Bulgaria's accession to the joint construction of China's "One Belt One Road" initiative in 2015 and the decision of the President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and President Rumen Radev from 2019 to raise bilateral relations to the level of strategic cooperation.
"China is interested in investment in automobiles, spare parts, renewable energy, information and communication, agriculture, finance and others," Ambassador Dai Qinli listed. "In the field of trade and investment cooperation, China will continue to liberalize and open access to markets to the world and expand its imports so that the Chinese market becomes an attractive opportunity for all countries in the world, including Bulgaria. I hope that we will also expand our imports from Bulgaria and thus improve and stabilize the trade exchange between the two countries," added the diplomat.
For the period from 2015 to 2023, the volume of bilateral trade between Bulgaria and China increased by 1.8 billion US dollars to 4.2 billion dollars, the ambassador pointed out. Bulgarian exports to China are about 1 billion US dollars by 2023.
