Hundreds of people from Stara Zagora participated in the job fair organized by the Employment Agency and the Labor Bureau in Stara Zagora in the Municipal Sports Hall "Ivan Vazov". Jobseekers had the opportunity to meet 30 employers from various sectors of the economy who offered more than 450 jobs.
Among the employers are leading Stara Zagora companies such as "Zagorka", "Standard Profile", Oskar Ruegg, DZU AD, Ate Plast, Menada, Regiocom, as well as those that are not positioned in Stara Zagora such as "Yazaki Bulgaria" and Sunotec, but have representative offices in the region.
"The interest in the stock market is obvious. We expect more than 800 people to visit it", said the director of the Labor Bureau in Stara Zagora, Georgi Gyokov, at the opening.
"If unemployment was the biggest scourge in the 1990s, now it is only 3% in Stara Zagora," emphasized Gyokov. According to him, employers are looking at importing workers from outside, but in reality Bulgaria has a quality internal resource that they could engage.
Deputy Mayor Radostin Tanev recalled that the Municipality of Stara Zagora has always supported such initiatives as today's labor exchange. "I am glad to see here companies that we managed to attract in the last 2 years to Stara Zagora, such as Regiocom, such as Sunotek. Most of the big companies in our city are also here. It is clear that there is work for everyone. The point is for companies to be sufficiently responsible to people and provide not only job opportunities, but also good pay, as well as opportunities for professional development."
The guest of the labor exchange was the deputy executive director of the Employment Agency Gabriela Tosheva - Gencheva, who pointed out that the situation on the labor market in Stara Zagora is favorable, since unemployment in the region is about 3%, while for the country it is about 5 .5%. As of August 31, more than 2,900 jobs have been applied for in the Labor Office, and 1,600 people have started work. She emphasized the opportunities for free training and professional qualification and retraining.
The job fair continued throughout the day with job interviews.
